　　You are responsible for contacting your IELTS testing center or TOEFL to submit an official English proficiency score. Scores should come directly from the testing agency to UNL.

　　IF YOU HAVE NOT YET TAKEN AN ENGLISH PROFICIENCY EXAM PLEASE CONTACT ONE OF THE FOLLOWING TESTING AGENCIES:

　　The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Given by Educational Testing Services (ETS).

　　Use our school code (6877) to send your test score to the University.

　　NOTE: Students suspected of submitting false English proficiency scores will be required to take the institutional English language test and may be subject to dismissal from the university.

　　ENGLISH PROFICIENCY DEADLINES

　　To be fully-admitted, you must meet English proficiency by the following deadlines:

　　Fall Term: July 15

　　Spring Term: December 1

　　Summer Term: May 1

　　If you are unable to meet these deadlines you will be required to enroll in the Intensive English Program or move your admission to the next term.

　　English Proficiency Tests and Minimum Scores

　　*Students presenting these forms of English proficiency will be required to take the UNL English Language Test upon arrival at UNL. The results of this exam will determine appropriate class placement and will have no influence on your admission status.

　　OTHER OPTIONS TO STUDY AT NEBRASKA IF YOU DO NOT MEET THE ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS

　　If you do not demonstrate English proficiency at the time of admission review you will be considered for conditional admission to UNL and will be able to attend the UNL Intensive English Program.

　　Upon completing the Intensive English Program with a passing score on the UNL English Language Test or UNL Institutional TOEFL, you will then be fully admitted to enroll for the next available academic term.

　　You will still be required to meet the English proficiency deadlines for that term.

　　Conditionally admitted students are not eligible for UNL institutional academic scholarships.

　　CREDIT ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSE

　　The CEAP is for conditionally admitted students who have an advanced level of English proficiency, below the minimum requirement for full admission.

　　Three advanced level English courses with one additional class in your area of study for a total of 12 hours of university credit.

　　TOEFL-61 total with writing subscore of 17

　　IELTS-5.0 total with writing subscore of 4.5

　　INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAM

　　The IEP is for students who are conditionally admitted and students who wish to study English in the United States.

　　Intensive English language study 21-25 hours per week

　　Sessions begin in each academic term

　　All levels of study
